Overview
Cat #: BLP-AR021
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-AR021) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AAR-021) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat kidney (lanes 1 and 5), lung (lanes 2 and 6), liver (lanes 3 and 7) lysates and rat skeletal muscle membranes (lanes 4 and 8):1-4. Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AAR-021), (1:200).
5-8. Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-AR021). - Expression of α2B-Adrenoreceptor in rat lungImmunohistochemical staining of rat lung paraffin embedded sections using Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AAR-021), (1:100). α2B-Adrenoreceptor is expressed in the respiratory epithelium of the bronchioli (arrows). Hematoxilin is used as the counterstain.
- Expression of α2B-Adrenergic Receptor in mouse cerebellar nuclei.Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen mouse brain sections with Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AAR-021), (1:300), followed by goat anti-rabbit-AlexaFluor-488. A. α2B-Adrenergic Receptor immunoreactivity (green) appears in neuronal profiles. B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-AR021), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).
- Expression of α2B-Adrenergic Receptor in mouse cerebellumImmunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen mouse brain sections with Anti-α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AAR-021), (1:300), followed by goat anti-rabbit-AlexaFluor-488. A. α2B-Adrenergic Receptor immunoreactivity (green) appears in Purkinje cells (arrows) and in the molecular layer (M). B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with α2B-Adrenergic Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-AR021), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue). M = molecular layer, G = granule layer.
