Overview
Cat #: BLP-QP003
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
Aquaporin 3 Blocking Peptide (#BLP-QP003) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Aquaporin 3 Antibody (#AQP-003) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Aquaporin 3 primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat kidney membranes:1. Anti-Aquaporin 3 Antibody (#AQP-003), (1:200).
2. Anti-Aquaporin 3 Antibody, preincubated with Aquaporin 3 Blocking Peptide (#BLP-QP003). - Expression of Aquaporin 3 in rat colonImmunohistochemical staining of paraffin embedded longitudinal section of rat colon using Anti-Aquaporin 3 Antibody (#AQP-003), (brown). AQP3 is detected in absorptive cells that are present in the luminal epithelium and in the superior third of the intestinal glands (arrows). Hematoxilin is used as the counterstain. Mucosa (M), submucosa (SM) and muscularis externa (ME).
