CNTF Blocking Peptide (#BLP-NT031) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-CNTF Antibody (#ANT-031) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-CNTF primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.

Antibody specificity is demonstrated in that it specifically recognizes CNTF while it does not reacts with the related cytokines Cardiotrophin-1, LIF and IL-6.
