Overview
Cat #: BLP-CR051
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
CNTFRα (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-CR051) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-CNTFRα (extracellular) Antibody (#ACR-051) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-CNTFRα (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat brain (lanes 1 and 4), rat cortex (lanes 2 and 5) and mouse brain (lanes 3 and 6) lysates:1-3. Anti-CNTFRα (extracellular) Antibody (#ACR-051), (1:200).
4-6. Anti-CNTFRα (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with CNTFRα (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-CR051). - Expression of CNTF receptor α in rat hippocampusImmunohistochemical staining of rat hippocampal CA1 region using Anti-CNTFRα (extracellular) Antibody (#ACR-051), (1:400). A. CNTFRα staining (green) appears in astrocytes in the CA1 region (arrows). B. Nuclei staining using DAPI as the counterstain (green). C. Merged image of panels A and B.
