Scientific background
Endothall is a synthetic structural analogue of Cantharidin (#C-170), widely used in agriculture as a pesticide and herbicide for both terrestrial and aquatic weeds1,2.
Endothall was found as a potent inhibitor of spinach leaf Protein Phosphatase 1 and Protein Phosphatase 2A but a less potent inhibitor than Cantharidin for mammalian liver Protein Phosphatase 1 and Protein Phosphatase 2A.
Endothall is a more effective herbicide than Cantharidin possibly due to the expression of various Protein Phosphatases in plant or to permeability differences1,2.
Lyophilized Powder
Endothall (#E-180) is a highly pure, synthetic, and biologically active compound.
