Overview
Cat #: BLP-GA002
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
GABA(A) α2 Receptor Blocking Peptide (#BLP-GA002) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-GABA(A) α2 Receptor Antibody (#AGA-002) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-GABA(A) α2 Receptor primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat brain membranes:1. Anti-GABA(A) α2 Receptor Antibody (#AGA-002), (1:200).
2. Anti-GABA(A) α2 Receptor Antibody, preincubated with GABA(A) α2 Receptor Blocking Peptide (#BLP-GA002). - Expression of GABRA2 in mouse cerebellumImmunohistochemical staining of mouse formalin-fixed frozen cerebellum sections with Anti-GABA(A) α2 Receptor Antibody (#AGA-002). The receptor subunit is localized mainly on the soma of Purkinje cells. Staining with mouse anti-parvalbumin (red) suggests that GABRA2 subunit is restricted to a sub-region of the Purkinje cell.
