Overview
Cat #: BLP-GA004
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-GA004) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AGA-004) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat brain membranes:1. Anti-GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody, (1:200).
2. Anti-GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-GA004). - Expression of GABRA6 in mouse cerebellumImmunohistochemical staining of mouse cerebellum using Anti-GABA(A) α6 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AGA-004). A. GABRA6 (red) appears in the granule layer (asterisk). B. Parvalbumin (green) appears in Purkinje cells and in the molecular layer. C. Merge of GABRA6 and parvalbumin indicates that GABRA6 is restricted to granule cells. DAPI is used as the counterstain (blue).
