Overview
Cat #: BLP-GR024
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-GR024) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AGR-024) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat kidney (lanes 1 and 5), rat liver (lanes 2 and 6), mouse liver (lanes 3 and 7) and human HepG2 liver carcinoma cell line (lanes 4 and 8) lysates:1-4. Anti-Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AGR-024), (1:200).
5-8. Anti-Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-GR024). - Expression of Glucagon receptor in mouse hypothalamusImmunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen mouse brain sections with Anti-Glucagon Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AGR-024), (1:200), followed by goat-anti-rabbit-AlexaFluor-488 secondary antibody. GCGR staining (green) in mouse hypothalamus is detected in neurons (arrows) from the 3rd ventricle wall outlining the paraventricular nucleus (PVN). Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).
