Overview
Cat #: BLP-PC138
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized Powder
Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-PC138) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Antibody (#APC-138) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Kv6.4 (KCNG4) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of mouse brain lysate (lanes 1 and 3) and rat brain lysates (lanes 2 and 4):1-2. Anti-Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Antibody (#APC-138), (1:200).
3-4. Anti-Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Antibody, preincubated with Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Blocking Peptide (BLP-PC138). - Expression of Kv6.4 in rat cerebral aqueduct.Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat brain sections Anti-Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Antibody (#APC-138), (1:600), followed by donkey anti-rabbit-biotin and Streptavidin-Cy3. A. Kv6.4 immunoreactivity (red) appears in the wall of the aqueduct (arrow). B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with Kv6.4 (KCNG4) Blocking Peptide (BLP-PC138), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).
