Overview
Cat #: BLP-NR047
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized Powder
L1CAM (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-NR047) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody (#ANR-047) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of mouse brain lysate (lanes 1 and 3) and rat brain membrane (lanes 2 and 4):1-2. Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody (#ANR-047), (1:200).
3-4. Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with L1CAM (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-NR047). - Western blot analysis of human MCF-7 breast adenocarcinoma cell line lysate (lanes 1 and 3) and human THP-1 monocytic leukemia cell line lysate (lanes 2 and 4):1-2. Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody (#ANR-047), (1:200).
3-4. Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with L1CAM (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-NR047). - Expression of L1CAM in mouse deep cerebellar nuclei.Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen mouse brain sections with Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody (#ANR-047), (1:300), followed by goat anti-rabbit-AlexaFluor-488. A. L1CAM immunoreactivity (green), appears in neuronal profiles (arrows). B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with L1CAM (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-NR047), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).
- Expression of L1CAM in rat spinal cord.Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat spinal cord sections with Anti-L1CAM (extracellular) Antibody (#ANR-047), (1:300), followed by goat anti-rabbit-AlexaFluor-488. A. L1CAM immunoreactivity (green), appears in the superficial layers (arrows) of the dorsal horn (DH). A cluster of immunoreactive cells embedded in the white matter (WM), were also stained (horizontal arrows). B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with L1CAM (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-NR047), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue). DH = dorsal horn, WM = white matter
