Overview
Cat #: BLP-MR023
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
MC3 Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-MR023) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-MC3 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AMR-023) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-MC3 Receptor (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of mouse (lanes 1 and 3) and rat (lanes 2 and 4) brain lysates:1,2. Anti-MC3 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AMR-023), (1:200).
3,4. Anti-MC3 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with MC3 Receptor (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-MR023). - Expression of MC3R in rat brainImmunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat brain sections using Anti-MC3 Receptor (extracellular) Antibody (#AMR-023), (1:100). Expression (green) appears in the hypothalamic periventricular region (horizontal arrow), in some nerve cells (vertical arrow), and in the neuropil (asterisk). Hoechst 33342 is used as the counterstain (blue).
