Overview
Cat #: BLP-SR071
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized Powder
Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-SR071) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody (#ASR-071) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat brain membranes (lanes 1 and 3) and mouse brain membranes (lanes 2 and 4):1-2. Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody (#ASR-071), (1:200).
3-4. Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-SR071). - Western blot analysis of human Malme-3M melanoma cell line lysate (lanes 1 and 3) and human Colo-205 colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line lysate (lanes 2 and 4):1-2. Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody (#ASR-071), (1:200).
3-4. Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-SR071). - Expression of Semaphorin 6A in rat cerebellum.Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat brain sections with Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody (#ASR-071), (1:400), followed by donkey anti-rabbit-biotin and Streptavidin-Cy3. A. Semaphorin 6A immunoreactivity (red) appears in the molecular layer (MOL) and in the Purkinje cell layer (P) (arrows). B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-SR071), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue). MOL = molecular layer, P = Purkinje cell layer
- Expression of Semaphorin 6A in rat spinal cord.Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat spinal cord sections with Anti-Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Antibody (#ASR-071), (1:400), followed by donkey anti-rabbit-biotin and Streptavidin-Cy3. A. Staining in the dorsal horn region, showed Semaphorin 6A immunoreactivity (red) in layers 1-2 (L1-2 and arrows). B. Pre-incubation of the antibody with Semaphorin 6A (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (BLP-SR071), suppressed staining. Cell nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).
