Overview
Cat #: BLP-SR004
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-SR004) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) Antibody (#ASR-004) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat brain lysate:1. Anti-Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) Antibody, (#ASR-004), (1:200).
2. Anti-Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-SR004). - Expression of SSTR4 in rat hippocampusImmunohistochemical staining of rat hippocampus using Anti-Somatostatin Receptor Type 4 (extracellular) Antibody, (#ASR-004). A. SSTR4 appears in the pyramidal layer (red). B. Staining of interneurons with mouse anti-parvalbumin (PV, green). C. Confocal merge of SSTR4 and PV demonstrates separate localization in hippocampus.
